David Lee Alsworth

( November 13, 1948 - December 11, 2025 )

David Lee Alsworth, age 77, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Born in Baytown, Texas, David lived a life defined by faith, honor, service, and devotion to his family and friends.

A devoted Christian, David’s life reflected his deep faith and commitment to serving others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, earning the respect of his fellow servicemen and the gratitude of his nation. After his military service, David dedicated his career to public service and retired as a Coordinator at the Harris County Courthouse.

David was more than a husband, father, brother, and friend—he was a man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to God and his family. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Alsworth; daughters Annie Garcia and Jennifer Alsworth; and stepchildren Jaime Martinez, Trisha Martinez, and Sonya Martinez. He is also survived by his sisters Jeanne Puryear, Joan Bacon, Sue Houska, and Rita Atkinson along with many cherished grandchildren, extended family, friends and his beloved pet, Penny.

David will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support for those he loved. He enjoyed spending time with family, attending an Astros game, watching western TV shows, and volunteering at Sagemont Church especially with Helping Hands. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home at 3:00 PM, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at the Houston National Cemetery on a later day, in a private ceremony attended by family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
